The Halloween season creeps closers. Brace yourself for some zombies, ghosts, monsters and more for a creepy, chilling, and thrilling Spooktober experience in Red Deer, Alberta this Halloween.   

This list below will help you plan your Halloween adventures, escape the dread, and get ready for your most spooktacular Halloween in Red Deer yet. 

1. "Return of the Headless Horseman" Haunted Escape  

Date: Oct 13th 5:00pm to Oct 31st 10:00pm  

Location: Unit 150 4732 60th Street, Red Deer, Alberta map directions 

 

First on the list is this indoor or outdoor haunted escape that is bigger and better than last year.  

It could take your group 15-20 minutes to make it through. Safe exits are provided throughout

$15.00 per person, 0-4 is free from 5 to 6 during the non-scaring time.  

This event is aiming to reach $12000 for the Red Deer Food Bank.   

 

 

2. Central Alberta Film Festival (CAFF)  

Date: October 19-22  

Location: Carnival Cinemas 

Meet some of Alberta’s up-and-coming talent in the film industry during the 6th Annual CAFF Award Ceremony and Gala on Saturday, October 22, 2022  

This festival is a platform to incubate Canadian, Albertan and international talent. In a rapidly evolving film industry, CAFF is a catalyst to enhance the cinematic experience with excellence and support Canadian artistic values.  

Screenings are held at Carnival Cinemas, 5402 47 Street, Red Deer, AB (Ratings are CAFF Ratings)  

Celebrity Red Carpet Awards Gala with Silent Auction & Cash Bar held at Harvest Centre, 4847A 19 Street, Red Deer, AB

3. Paws Howl-oween Daycare Party  

Date: October 29th, 9 AM to 5 PM  

Location: Klassic Kennels Doggy Daycare(just north of Red Deer, AB)  

 

Next on our list is the cutest Second Annual Howl-O-Ween Daycare Party  

Who says our pets don’t deserve Halloween parties, too?  

This event will support the rescues of the Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Foundation.   

This is a supervised play-in is a dogs-only event (you drop off and pick up later). Bring your pooch for a fun day with experienced daycare attendants who volunteer their time so 100% of the proceeds stay with the rescue!  

There will be a costume contest/photo shoot for an additional $10(per dog) that you can enter your furry friend(s) in. Voting will take place on Facebook and the winning costume will win a 5-day doggy daycare pass. You can bring your costumes, or we can dress your pooch up for their photo!  

Trick-or-treat baggies full of goodies will go home with all attending dogs! PLUS, for the first 25 dogs booked in, we will include a custom photo mug with your pet's picture on it.

4. Halloween Witches Glow & Throw Wood Shed - Axe Throwing   

Date: Friday, October 28th, 6-10 pm  

Location: Wood Shed - Axe Throwing 56 Cuendet Industrial Way, Sylvan Lake, AB, Canada, Alberta 

 

Celebrate Halloween a few days early at Wood Shed Axe Throwing.  Witches and Warlocks you are invited to Glow & Throw!

5. Witches on the Lake, Sylvan Lake  

Date: October 30, 11 am   

Location: The Pier 

Calling all witches, warlocks, goblins and ghosts on anything that floats!   

  

Let’s polish our paddles and sharpen our hats  

Eat some spiders and feed the bats   

For it’s time to hit the water for our annual witchy paddle.   

Be at the pier at 11 am the eve of Halloween  

We will launch our paddles in our witchy hats.   

Dress as a witch and bring your paddle gear!  

  

If you can afford to do so, bring some cash and/or a perishable food item. Sylvan Lake Food Bank can be there to collect the items and cash! 

6. Town of Blackfalds Monster Bash 

Date: Sat Oct 29th 1:00pm - 3:00pm  

Location: Blackfalds Community Centre, 4810 Womacks Rd, Blackfalds, AB T0M 0J0, Canada  

 

Put on your best costume and come to the Blackfalds Community Centre for Halloween fun! Make sure to fill up your treat bag with some goodies from the candy buffet before enjoying some magic show fun from Magic FX. We will also have colouring, a photo booth and a costume contest!
