Red Deer Advocate reported that the housing market in Central Alberta is strong; this is evident as homebuilders are busy at this time of the year with new builds selling fast.

The said Central Alberta local media noted that Timber Ridge and the nearby Evergreen subdivisions were busy constructing new builds last week.

According to Red Deer Advocate, Beacon Homes owner Courtenay Whitehouse says they are busy with the construction of new builds. "As far as my business (goes), I'm all out. We're busy," said Whitehouse.

Similarly, Hugh Macbeth, Mason Martin Homes' chief executive, mentioned that they are making haste because as soon as the construction of new builds is finished, they are absorbed by the market.

With projects aplenty, Central Alberta homebuilders are on-the-double to ensure housing demands are met.

The housing demand was anticipated to cool down after the successive interest rate hikes, but such is not valid in Central Alberta.

Macbeth mentioned that higher borrowing costs had not impacted the housing demands in Central Alberta, stating that this region has the best new home values in Canada.

"The prices are still super attractive. If you're moving into a new home for new home buyers, you still can't beat the prices we have in central Alberta," Macbeth said.

He added that these attractive, affordable houses make people migrate from Edmonton and Calgary and move to Central Alberta.

Macbeth further states that he anticipates busier days as far as building homes.

"I've done a lot of reading, and it's all positive for Red Deer and central Alberta. This fall, we'll see a lot more action as far as houses go in because people are coming to central Alberta, and our inventory is drying up."

Other than the low cost of living, Central Alberta's high average wages and high quality of living make it more attractive to homebuyers from outside the region.
